Several hundred people per day type into the search engine, “I want to make money”. This is query is becoming more frequent because so many people are out of work, college student subsidies have been cut, insurance and gasoline are higher and everyone is making less than last year.

This niche or specialized group of people normally join dozens of affiliate programs and throw all kinds of advertising towards each specific program. An affiliate program is where a company has a product and they pay you a commission when you send someone to their website and that individual makes a purchase.

There are literally thousands of affiliate programs. The thing to do is to get a program that has a large and responsive niche (remember “Internet Marketer”?) so that when you do generate traffic to the website there is a high percentage chance of converting that person to a sale.

It has been my experience that ½% to 1% of visitors to the right niche site will be converted. So that means a sale for about every 200 unique people that visit a site. But that is with pay per click advertising that directly asks the correct niche to click the ad and is sent to the niche site that directly solves the visitor’s problem.

More general sites usually convert about 0.0007 of visitors to a sale. That means one in one thousand will buy. This is the figure to plan with and if you get better results then you will be happily surprised.

The secret to making money is to understand that you will pay for each click and it will take 1,000 click throughs to make one sale. So you must do the math, if the commission is more than what 1,000 clicks will cost you then go forward, otherwise don’t bother because it is a money loser.

A better way to get visitor traffic is to set up a fan page on Facebook that sends traffic to your web page in hopes to convert them without spending any advertising dollars.

But get creative and keep selecting names until one is available.

Now you have a site, but you will have to watch the training videos and begin changing the links for each page of your site to reflect your affiliate id’s that you set up. You will set up a couple of id’s one for a debt company and then for Clickbank. Record your various user names and passwords in a safe place in case you need them later.

Next, select your favorite review and begin marketing that specific web address. The more people you send to that address which is embedded with your affiliate id, the more money you can make. Remember it is just a numbers game so keep sending your friends there by using an email signature, by showing them your site in person and having them sign on as another free member, and so on.
